Tying Bows
Some suggested activities to conduct either before or after your care-recipient's or residents' viewing of the Moments in Lavender DVD movies.
- use yellow ribbons to unite the viewing experience and the tangible experience
- make lavender scent bags and tye ribbon bows to the tops
- tie lavender or other flowers with ribbons
- tear up some old white cotton sheeting to make hair curling-rags and talk about:
... the girl in the movie having her hair curled
... how the rags were bound and tied in bows at the ends
... a famous little movie star and her curly hair (Shirley Temple or Orphan Annie)
... did you or your sister have ringlets made from rags?
- refer to the Moments in Lavender Photobook and the steps of the girl having her hair tied in rags, the old fashioned night candle, seeing her curls next morning
Please add any other suggestion you may have, I'd love to hear from you (comment tab is at top of post)
